Here is the first knife I collected back in the late 60's.
The knife was not new then.
(I was a young boy then)
The scales are a dyed bone or antler not sure.
You can barely make out some letters on one side of scales "GG"
possibly the company MAGGI old German food company.
If anyone can help identify the tang stamp and possible age I would
be grateful. Thanks in advance!

I have a couple of books that show cutler's marks. I started looking but have not seen those marks yet. If I find it I'll let you know.

I haven't seen that marking, but here's a copy of an illustration from a 1932 Weltersbach catalog. Weltersbach produced knives for others on a contract basis. They may or may not have made this knife, but at least it shows the same pattern by a comtemporary.

acourvil,
Thank You for that image! As I stated I have had this knife for a very long time. If I remember correctly I traded for it with a friend who's father was a pilot in WW2. Thanks again for your contribution, Hopefully more info will show up.
