Was this knife made after Schrade closed down, after 2004.

2004 was Schrade's 100th anniversary . I thought that Schrade made these as one of their last production runs .

That looks to me like one Taylor had made.
The color of the handles look different to me from those made by Schrade.
Not positive, but I don't think Schrade stamped Schrade Walden on any of the 100th Anniversary knives.
I suspect Camillus made it, or perhaps Bear & Sons.

But I am always willing to be corrected.

Ken I have one that's in a cigar box.The box has a date 2003 .I think it the knife was made by Camillus. I seen one on Ebay lately and it had the tube with the made by Camillus paper work.
I notice yours has a spun roll pin where mine is flat.Mine also has pins throught the bolsters

As a collector with most of the 2002 and 2003 Schrade knives - My collection has most of the would be Schrade 100th Anniversary knives. I would not buy a knife with that 100 Anniversary etch on it.

I also notice Grant, your knife has the same shield as the old yellow knives Schrade made back in the 1970s. It look like Camillus made your knife Grant; and you say you can see the pins in the bolster.

The one I have posted, is not mine. They say they can not see the pins, however I have a Buck 301 made by Camillus and although I know it has pins in the bolster, I can not see them.

I still believe someone had these knives made with that strange 100 Anniversary etch, to suck money from would-be collectors. Ken

Dale and Grant, I have just looked at Schrade's product guide for 2003, your box Grant is the box Schrade made for the "Cigar Box Classics" they also had the "Everlasting Sharp" blade etch; and the main blade was stamped "Schrade Walden N.Y. U.S.A.".

I do not believe there is a big number of those "Cigar Box Classics" about.
Like Dale, I missed the tang stamp on them.

Grant, is the back of the main blade stamped 881Y?

The Cigar Box you have, could have been made in 2003 for the Classics.
We still do not know who had them made... Ken

I don't think that that knife (yellow handle) belongs with that box. I am kinda under the impression that all the "Cigar Box Classics" (not the tobacco series) had green bone handles and a different shield. Made in U.S.A. in 2003. I have one, a peanut, and when I searched for more, they were all pretty much like this one, different patterns of course, but green bone and same shield.

That is correct.

I have a serialsed set( SS51-1 ) of four knives like the one in the cigar box.I have not seen a 4" stockman with that bone.I purchased this set and only one came in a cigar box.

Dale, the first knife with the 100 year etch is the one in question.
The collectors that have had them in their hands, say they can not find pins in the bolsters.
How do the other knife makes hid the pins? Like Case knives... Ken

Might as well add my photo to the thread; I think this knife was made by Schrade at the end based on it's construction. OH

That yellow knife is a Camillus, I am pretty sure. They made yellow stockmans, trappers and muskrats, all with that shield and tang stamp, not long after the bankruptcy. They were put up in tubes with the "SWA" prefix in front of the old numbers. The muskrats had one spey blade. I think that you MAY find that Camillus got the Swinden pin machinery after the Schrade bankruptcy. I wonder where it is now?
