While Mitch was yukking it up, I messed with the picture and I think it says "Prairie Forge". Double click on the enhanced picture and see what you think.

Would this "Prairie Forge" be the same maker responsible for this etching on a folding hunter clone?
It is stamped "JAPAN" so that and "Prairie" are the only connection I see and I've come up short on other ideas for identifying this knife.
NOTE: I did not purchase this knife and I have no idea when it was made. All I know is that I got it from my grandpa and somehow survived my adolescence even when my other knives did not. I even cut the head off my first turkey with it and it made me want a "real" buck badly in my youth. I still don't have a 110 yet but at this point I'm not sure I need too. This one stays in the gun safe now.
Oh and I know this is an old thread but it was the only one that popped up with my search for my "Prairie knife" so forgive me (Or point me in another direction!)
Thanks,
KP
