Schrade Walden-What is it?

Here is an odd little fellow that I have. It is an all stainless steel knife, single blade with a long pull and a measuring device/ruler blade.
Tang stamp reads Sçhrade over Walden over NY It measures approx 3-1/8" closed
No model number or any other info. I apologize ahead of time for the poor quality picture, it was taken with an iPad.

I have a vague memory of that perhaps being a tool that a lumber company employee carried. Ask Michael Little; I suspect that he knows.

That makes sense Cal. That would be right handy for measuring the thickness of rough cut lumber.
