All About Pocket Knives

Found this Remington at a antique store while I was out hunting for knives. I don't know much of anything about Remington knives so any info at all would be greatly appreciated!

It looks to be in very good shape so I'm concerned it's a recent manufacture. Since I'd rather get the opinion of experts than get taken to the cleaners, here I be.

The not-very-clear photo doesn't show the shield is stamped with 'Remington UMC' very well and the tang stamp is a circled 'Remington UMC' with 'Made in the USA' around the outer circumference.

It is a modern remake and not one of the original 1920-1940 era Remingtons. Absolutely not an antique!!Maybe $15-20 to carry and use.

Definitely not a 1920's thru '40's knife. Remington never used that handle material.

Your first tip off that it's not an early Rem. is the handles. They're Delrin®. The Delrin® plant didn't open until 1960 and most cutlery companies didn't start using it until the mid to late '60s or after.
