All About Pocket Knives

OK Schrade experts, I have a few question about these knives. First did Schrade make this pattern with wood handles? Second what is the difference between a model 152 and a model 502? Finally are these legit or have they been rehandled?

I thought the "SC" on the 502 meant it was (originally) scrimshawed. And perhaps one (502) is stainless, one (152) is carbon. I suspect both have been re-handled. But, I don't know much.

I am no expert by any means....however, the only Wooden 152 that I am aware of was one done with a Damascus Steel Blade and wooden handle. The 502 SC was a Scrim Shaw Blade that ended up with a wooden handle put on it. It is my honest opinion that they were both re-handled. They are and will be excellent user knives, just no collector value.

The knives where rehandled.
Both blades should be carbon steel.
Schrade did make a 512OT for the European market with a stainless blade.

The Sharpfingers that had wood handles put on in china have a smaller, straight rivet..Schrade used a compression rivet. I've been told that the straight rivets can be knocked out with a punch. This could also be a problem if the wood gets wet and swells. I heard that there could be a question as to the temper of the blades being correct but a Schrade employee told me that if there was any question as to the temper of the steel, they would never have been ground at the factory. The only legitimate wood handled Sharpfinger that I'm aware of is the 100 Anniversary knife, and it has a LTD. hollow ground blade.
