Scott, I always enjoy your posts and your knives, but we don't do Chinese Schrades in this sub-forum.

Make 'er disappear.......

I think we need to let this knife remain here in the Schrade forum as an educational piece.
If a collector as well rounded as Scott can be taken in by these new Chinese models, I know a lot of less knowledgeable collectors will decived as well.

Here is a 1991 flyer that has the TM6 on the flyer. The original TM series were all made in Ireland.
My spread sheet says I have a couple, so I will see if I can dig out an original and post some pics of it.

Just an FYI to anyone buying Schrade products now days; If you see the First Production Run etch on a knife, you can pretty much rest assured that it is a Taylor Cutlery LLC product, made after the close of Imperial Schrade Corp. in 2004. You can be 99.99% sure it was made in China, though it may be possible he has used it on a rare US made knife or two.

If someone has seen the at First Production Run etch on any old US made Schrades please let us know and post a picture of the knife/knives.
I may be mistaken, but to my knowledge that etch was the invention of Stewart Taylor and only used on knives of his manufacture.

I have a TM3 still in the bubble pack made in Ireland.

The Schrade-Barnett Collaboration Knives had a First Production Run 1 of 500 knives produced for each of the two knives made. I have them both, however, they are in a display and the Etching is on the pile side of the blade. Schrade Barnett is etched on the Mark side

I will see if I can find some pictures.

I know better than making absolute statements where Schrade is concerned.
However, I do not recall seeing that etch on any regular catalog item.
