All About Pocket Knives

Just finished up number 2 of 3 custom hobos for a guy.

This one got thick fileworked liners, but no fileworked backsprings. He was intrigued by 4ever3's sodbuster filework and asked me to do something similar. So I did. Barehead, imapla jigged buffalo horn scales 2 brass pins, and all that good stuff. He basically cut me loose and gave me suggestions and guidelines along the way. I was curious and messed with the handle shape a little. It's a bit narrower, the butt end is shaped differently and it has deeper cuts from the bottom. As you might see from the top view, I staggered the filework on the top of the liners a little bit, I thought it would be kind of different, plus I don't like copying someone elses work notch for notch, so I alter things here and there to make it different.

Great looking knife, and I'd swear your filework is better every time I see you post a new MM customized knife.

I put that big blue text from MM for a reason. If you want the best work from a custom knife maker or embellisher, tell him what you want, give him some room for his personal touches and your knife will be well done.

DON'T keep changing what you want, don't call or email daily if your knife maker has a backlog. Your knifemaker should email you when he starts your project and when he's done. There is no need to make daily calls or emails. If you do most will bill you for making daily calls, hey you call and your on his time.

If you follow what's in the large blue print, you will have a good working relationship and the maker will value your business. Call daily and he may not want to work with you again as you will be regarded as a pest. I've found over time you will always come out ahead if you give him some artitstic license and stay out of his way.

Mr. (heavy on the MISTER) Muskrat Man, that's some of the best filework I've seen in years. A tip o' the hat to you, sir.

The buff horn and redefined handles are PDG, as well.
