Tractor Supply Company

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Tractor Supply Company

Post by reeltooth »

I picked up two case knives made for the Tractor Supply Company. They are labeled Tsc Exlusive Burnt Oatmeal. Bone handle and stainless two blade @ 3 3/4 inches. Seem to be quality, made in USA case knives.
Originally listed at $59.99, but put on clearance for $11.99. I was wondering if these "made for such and such company knives" are still collectable? Or should I just stick them in my pocket for an every day user?

reeltooth,
$11.99 for a new Case is a great deal any day! Since you got 2 of 'em, use one, put the other one up, best of both worlds ::tu:: .

Thanks garddogg56. That picture is the exact knife I picked up, but they had no boxes. Not sure if the logo is a log cabin, representing the Trapper and belonging to Case. I thought it may have been a barn, representing the Tractor Supply Company.

Here in eastern NC there are Tractor Supply Co locations in many towns, big and small. The knives are standard Case knives with the TSC shield (such as the one Dogg shows) in lieu of a standard Case shield. The knives are as nice as the standard Case knife - it is a user, and a good one! OH

Ps Fantastic price - go back and buy all they have!

Thanks for the info Old Hunter. I live in Lexington, NC. Bought the last two here. Checking around this area of the piedmont, most Tractor Supply Companies are sold out. Clemmons store might have them - webpage says to call. Just an observation - these blades are SHARP! Pulled one of my "bonehead moves", as I am wont to do. Tried to erase a finger smudge off the blade by running it's flat across my forehead. Nice clean line on my forehead now. :oops: Don't know what I'll say when my wife asks? ::hmm::

The one here ran out of all the discounted knives. I was going to pick up a yellow Delrin Medium Stockman with awl blade, but anything they didn't have on display they didn't have it.

garddog;

Check Case's website and their dealer locator - there is or at least was a big True Value in Wisacasett with a large Case selection. I stopped in there when vacationing in Maine a few years ago.

LL Bean sold case knives in the 60's-70's but only a few patterns, at least based on my research.

I think that TSC has Case make them these special patterns using a different Case pattern every year or every few years. I once had a 6347 with the same burnt bone and shield.

I picked up a few of these two at 2 TSC's near me. They were closing out some but not all of their Case knives, the 3318's were $7.99, the 22087's were 6.99. Can't pass up that kind of deal. The three visited were out of the TSC trapper's.

I stopped by two TSC locations that I have passed in the last two days (Morehead City NC & Greenville NC) neither had any Case knives at the discount prices and barely any Case knives at the full price either! Sale must be over. OH

Same here at my nearest TSC store. I don't go there often (prefer locally owned farm and ranch stores over chain stores) but stopped today out of curiosity and they had very few Case at all, none of them on sale.
