All About Pocket Knives

Is there any old case knives on ebay that are not bogus....absolutely mind blowing how bad it is....and anybody that buys a vintage case knife on the bay....that has no knowledge of AAPK and gets hosed...it is a shame....anyone buying knives should know about AAPK....and be able to use it for their embodiment to post a knife and get the real answers from u great knife guys, ya'll are the best at answers for those of us unfortunate knife people that are still learning....once again u guys are the best...that's all i got to say about that!!!! Fles I have to second that motion. Hopefully anyone considering knife collecting as a hobby will do a little internet research and find AAPK before they dive in. Knowledge is the only way to defeat these crooks.

An old collector friend of mine told me years ago that the first several hundred dollars you spend should be on reference books (if your going to collect anything!) Now we knife people have AAPK which should go along with the book library, and it's free! All you need is a camera and a working knowledge of knife parts in question. What a good job of informing potential knife collectors! Thanks to all members Terry

I agree with the comments about the knives. It's a jungle out there. Another thing to consider though is the seller. Tom (Olderdogs) has a lot of really nice older Case knives on ebay. He knows knives and doesn't sell counterfeit knives. Many of the ebay sellers go to flea markets and auctions to get their knives. They have no concern if they are genuine. They only have a motive for profit. There are several ebay sellers that get a lot of free advertising in this forum that I wouldn't buy a new in the box Case knife from. I'd like to see them go out of the knife business.

I made the decision shortly after joining AAPK that I'm to ignorant to buy older Case knives. Thank you AAPK for saving me what had the potential of being a lot of $$$$.

Bob, thanks for the vote of confidence on my listings. Thanks to folks like Tony Foster, Robert Wells, Larry Williamson, Jim Sargent, and Roger Cunningham I don't mess up very often. Everyone can make mistakes though, just really don't like it when someone knows they are selling fakes and persists.

There are plenty of really nice old Case knives listed on eBay every day. I have fished some super examples of hard to find Case knives out of the bay over the 18 years I've been a member.

Unfortunately there are also many fake Case turds floating in the bay as well. As Bob says "It's a jungle out there".

If you buy from reputable dealers you are far less likely to get burned. If you buy from dealers with a good return policy you can then get feedback on the knife here at AAPK and then return it if it doesn't pan out.
