I cannot imagine that this was a big seller. I would suspect there aren't many out there.

That Covered Wagon(CW-1) was produced in 1976. There were actually 9000 made and retail at the time was $20.00
There was another Covered Wagon (TV-4) that was produced in 1983 for True Value. There were 12000 made and retail at the time was $47.75
This information is from my Schrade Files. There was a Listing, of the Limited Edition and Commemorative Knives, done by Schrade in March 1994

Tom, do you mean that someone at Schrade compiled this list of Commemoratives & Ltd Editions in 1994 ?
Is it possible to post this somewhere so i and others can copy it ?

I think The "Covered Wagon" was the very first of the Schrade commemorative knives. Later ones were Jim Bowie, Buffalo Bill. This marketing idea was soon picked up by other knife manufacturers but i believe it was Schrade who started it and it was with this Covered Wagon knife.
My memory of Schrade history is getting rusty so please correct this if i'm wrong.
