stamped "Case XX" and "6488" - closed length: 4-1/8"
Problems(?):
  • 1) Case XX -- the A is lower than C SE
    2) 6488 -- the last 8 is much deeper
    3) shield -- low quality; font?
    4) handles -- not right
    5) pins -- sloppy
    6) blades ??
I'm thinking Fake! ::td::
Thanks

They've been removed, and will be returned to the estate/family. I'll let them know about the knives' lack of any authenticity.
Luckily, there are many more interesting vintage Case XX knives still in their Nov. 1st auction. The doctor (Ob/Gyn) received some knives as gifts and forms of payment. He was an avid collector and knife show attendee.

http://beckortauctions.com/index.php?ap=1&pid=51128 link to the Estate Case XX Knife Collection auction, if anyone's interested.

Look at the auction results. It shows names of winning bidders. Oddly, alot of knives were won by none other than tommygg101 according to auction results. This character is obviously frequently mentioned in this forum as notorious in regards to sellng items that he knows are not authentic. Not saying any of the knives he bought are fake or not.
Just saying, I thought it was odd.

That said, appreciate your honesty Hoosier and pulling those 2 posted knives from the auction. Personally, I suggest rather than returning them to the family, they get hit with a 20 pound Sledge never to be seen or circulated again. Just my opinion.

Plus 10% buyers premium and 7% Indiana sales tax. :(

Perhaps the buyer plans to 'recycle' them with buffed to near mint blades and replaced Case handles. Then the $46+ is an investment.

Interestingly, the buyers name is 1960ROLAND. Did you buy them KJ?
Regardless, those knives are pretty far gone. Buyer is likely facing much more than buffing and rehandle on those.
To each his own.

No it's not me. He's a young feller too. I would be "1946Roland".
I do not have the skills needed to rebuild a knife.
