I know nothing about old switch blades but I have one that is interesting. It appears to be home made but I don't know if it came from a kit or if it is just made up of old knife parts. It really works great though.

I think this knife is an import from India. I have two knives that are very similar and marked "No 6 SHEFFIELD STEEL". Mine are 5 1/2" closed, have wooden handles and shot shell pullers. Unlike the real thing the pullers are not marked for 12 or 16 GA. shells and are actually the same size. Very good spring action. I think these were intended to mimic Sheffield made knives much like the fake folding Bowie's that are so marked but made in India back in the 1960's.

Btrwtr is correct. These were made in India in the 1960s. Many were passed off as Sheffield knives.
The handles aren't wood, though. They are buffalo horn.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, the brass is that very crude cast and filed stuff that I see from India. I appreciate the information.

As I said the handles on the knives I have are wood. New condition. I never bothered to remove the cosmoline from the blades. Erroneously stamped "SHEFFIELD STEEL" out on the blade and "No. 6 SHEFFIELD STEEL" on the tang.

Faked me out as well;I thought the OP's knife had horn handles but upon a closer look I can see the grain to them. Most of the No.6 Sheffield Steel knives I have encountered are horn handled.

The OP's handles ARE horn.
Horn has grain, much like wood.

Yes, the handles are horn on mine. They are not smooth and look like they were shaved lengthwise to get them into shape which is what the texture is that shows on them. Does anyone collect these things or are they a shelf item? I have no interest in it and if someone has an interest in it, let me know.
