Hey y'all. I just picked up a SAK Tinker for peanuts at the local thrift shop. It's in very good condition. I'd like to customize the scales and sandblast the blades, but I'm hesitant. What do y'all think? To customize, or to leave intact? Thanks for the input.

It's not a rare or exceptionally valuable knife. They're a dime a dozen, albeit a VERY good knife. Go for it. If you don't like it pick up another one for very little money.

Thanks for the input, Colonel. I believe you're right on the money. This Tinker's about to get a makeover. I'll try to figure out how to post pictures when I've finished it.

If ya got a good deal on it, and you've got the itch to jazz it up a bit, I say go for it. Not like it's a rare knife or something, if you don't like the results of tinkering with your Tinker you can always pick up another one without breaking the bank...
