Very beautiful 6 lb 10.5 oz and 19.25 inches long, ::ds:: ::ds:: I shoulld say she is my first biological grand child since her very long term boyfriend has custody of his 2 children from a previous marriage. Both mom and daughter are doing great. ::ds:: ::ds::

Congratulations Hukk! ::tu::
With many more to come I hope.

Grand-kids are great ( I have 13- 8 biological & 5 step). The great thing is that you can spoil them to death, fill them full of sugar & caffeine, then sent them home to their parents and you can get some revenge for the things your kids put you through when they were growing up. :lol: :lol:

BTW, as you know, it is tradition for first time fathers to pass out cigars. It is a little known tradition, that first time grandfathers are supposed to pass out pocket knives. I believe this custom first originated in & around Sheffield England.
Please understand, these do not have to be expensive custom knives. A simple low numbered production knife is quite acceptable. :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Congratulations buddy!

Pink is the color that comes to my mind too.

................................OR..............................

With all the new GEC knives this year PICK out one of those.

That way it came out the same year she came out.... :lol: :lol:

That OPEN HOUSE Casien comes to my mind... ::nod:: :lol: :lol:

Then she will have a GRATE pice of history to start a GRATE life with.

Thanks to all! It is indeed a joyous event. My daughter wanted to work to the last minute, well she worked last Friday, the 10th, cleaned house Monday the 13th and went to the hospital that evening. :shock: Sheesh, almost like she planned the delivery. :shock: :lol: :lol:

He wanted a girl, we just wanted everyone safe and happy and they are.

Low numbered ::hmm:: 000 :lol: :lol: Good try Dale, catch a man at his weak moments. ::paranoid::

I hope to get back in the shop next week with some meaningful time and maybe make a knife for Faith's dad, he's a good guy. Been puttering around and need to finish a color/voltage chart for a new power supply I got for annodizing titanium. Thinking of making a stencil with the birth date and name etched into the blade. I got some great looking bark mammoth ivory in. I don't know whether to make a slip joint or to modify a Buck 110. Been thinking a long time about taking a piece of titanium, doing some filework, annodize it and using that as the liners. Then make seperate front and rear bolsters of either timascus, damascus, or just 416 ss heat treated. There is a lot of damascus out there that can be "baked" at 500F or so and get great colors that will not rub off like annodizing will. Since the liner is titanium, I'd have to use screws for the bolsters. I need to set down and plan it out. I'll make some nice fillet knives for the older kids since they like to "CATCH" fish. I've seen some real nice 440C blades that I can buy and just quickly handle and make a Kydex sheath.

I'm way behind and a couple guys need knives and sheaths for hunting season and what I have on the books will last me through early 2008. ::dang::

Normally the liners and bolsters are all one piece on the Buck 110. But, that don't mean I can't change it and give it a slimmer profile. :mrgreen: Dang, I can cut the weight of the Buck 110 in half. ::shrug:: I'll figure out what to do while working on the other guy's knives. ::tu::
