All About Pocket Knives

Guys,
Here is another makers mark that I need help identifying. This is one a fixed blade knife that began life as a file.
The mark is, or looks like, an open folding knife with a letter 'W' at least partly over it. The open folder part might be subject to some correction but the letter 'W' is clear.

Ray, I've never seen that mark before, but that is a slick little knife.

Ray, what is the handle material? Looks like bone and maybe copper rivets? I've never seen that mark before but it appears well made, nice little knife. Looks like the maker might have some Anza influence? Terry

I am undecided between smooth bone or horn. I am inclined towards bone but not sure at all.

Nice looking little knife Ray! The handles look like they are smooth bone. I think the maker may be Japanese or of Asian descent. The large rivets(are they copper or brass?) and the mokume bolsters are pretty characteristic. You might want to check a list of custom makers and concentrate on Asian maker's marks.

I'm not really all that familiar with the P & S team but I don't think it is one of those.It looks almost like a small German knicker knife in shape.

I got a message from an eBay user who was familiar with the touchmark on the blade. The knife was made by Daniel Winkler, a knifemaker of some renown. Just thought I'd pass this along for anyone who might be interested.
