Got this, this morning. I am still in shock. Roger was my friend and was totally dedicated to Laura. He will most certainly be missed. Laura and the rest of the family most certainly need your prayers. He will be missed.

Hope that you and your wife are doing good. This is Laura (Roger 50/2050s other half). I just wanted to let you know that my precious Roger passed away this morning. I am so heart broken and lost without him. He had a heart attack at work. I just don't understand. I know that he thought a lot of you and thought of you as a real friend. I really only knew a few of Rogers friends and thought you would like to know. Take Care Bill. Don't think I'm crazy but I am going to sign out the way Roger always did.

Roger will be sorely missed by all. He freely shared his vast knowledge and I will miss his right on assessments of Case Classics, especially "toes", you just couldn't pass a phony past him. My prayers are with you and your beloved Laura and family.

I am in shock......

Damn it! This is shocking news and my heart is suddenly very heavy. I pray for Roger's family and friends. Especially Laura. I know he loved her so very much. May he rest in peace and may God help Laura, family, and friends through this loss.

Very, very sad news...my thoughts go out to his friends and loved ones and I'm sure his contributions here will be deeply missed.

I really don't know what to say. My prayers go out to the family. He was a joy to read on this forum. I wish I had met him in person.

I am deeply sadened to hear of Rogers passing.... He was a kind soul and had a way with words that I sincerely admire... My thoughts and prayers are with Laura and family... Rest easy old friend... Respectfully, Gary

I'm still recovering from the news of Rogers passing. He and I shared kind of an old cowboy thing. I don't know how many of you knew that Roger use to rodeo; he was busted up more that once before calling it quits. He helped me through some dark days a few years back when my Dad passed away. Roger was a kind soul, with a heart bigger than Texas. I will remember him, always.

This is a joke he sent me some time ago.

A Texas cowboy gets pulled over by a Oklahoma State Trooper for speeding. The trooper started to lecture the cowboy about his speeding and, in general, began to throw his weight around to try to make the cowboy feel uncomfortable.

Finally, the trooper got around to writing out the ticket. As he was doing that, he kept swatting at some flies that were buzzing around his head.

The cowboy says, "Y'all havin' some problem with circle flies?"

The trooper stopped writing the ticket and said, "Well yeah, if that's what they're called. But I never heard of circle flies."

"Well, sir," the cowboy replies, "Circle flies hang around ranches. They're called circle flies because they're almost always found circling around the back end of a horse."

The trooper says, "Oh," and goes back to writing the ticket. But, a moment later he stops and says, "Are you callin' me a horse's ass?"

"No, sir," the cowboy replies. "I have too much respect for law enforcement to call y'all a horse's ass." "That's a good thing," the trooper says and goes back to writing the ticket.

After a long pause, the cowboy, in his best Texas drawl says, "Hard to fool them flies though."

wow, im sorry to hear of this.I didnt know roger well, but i always enjoyed his posts.My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I didn't know Roger very well , but I know he was full of knife knowledge and was an asset to this website. I am sad to hear of the news and my heart and prayers go out to his family and friends as well. What a dark day in the AAPK community .

Wow, what a shocker, have not been on in a couple of days. Very sad news, my prayers go out to the family.

Here are the last words he spoke to me in PM.

"Hello Ken,

I haven't heard anything from them, not one word! ....Why don't you try & write them also, mabe if they get more than one letter they will respond? ....If I hear anything from them I will contact you right away, OK?

My job is not done and I will still work to get what he wanted.

Very sad day indeed. Roger was one the first to welcome me here at AAPK. Never met him but he seemed to be a kind soul. He will be missed for sure. - Go with God, Roger.
My deepest sympathy for his wife, Laura, and all his family.

I just read this on the main page, thank you Bryan for posting it. Sad news indeed. Roger was one of the first to share with me the knowledge and love he had of the Classics. I will miss him so much. His passion for knives was great to read but his obvious passion for life and family could not be ignored. It was encouraging and uplifting everytime we spoke. A true example to us all. I know I'm better for having known, for a little while, ROGER 50/2050 and God be with his family during this great and unexpected loss.
