Hi~~~my name is Lisa and I am trying to help my Dad sell his knife collection. He has about 250 knives & sets and has info and certificates on most of them. this is one he didn't. He has mostly Case & Gerber, but not many Frost. The set is called America's Endangered Wildlife. it is a set of 4 lockback pocket knives with 4 endangered species (bison, whale, eagle & mountain lion(?) ). I'm not sure what the handle material is, but it appears to me to be discolored in some areas. It also looks like it is supposed to copy of chromolithography on ivory. It is in a metal snap close box with a faux alligator on the outside and a gray fitted insert inside. The box measures 7.5 x 4.5 I would appreciate any help or info I can get. I've been online and other than this site, could not find much. I also have a Case set I cannot find any info on. I am actually beginning to think that is a fake set, but one problem at time

Tanks in Advance~~~~Lisa

Lisa, welcome to AAPK! I can't answer your questions myself but if I were you I'd contact Frost Cutlery and ask them for info. See
http://www.frostcutlery.com/contact.aspx for contact info. Maybe someone here knows more about your item.
Good luck, and looking forward to seeing what else your dad has.

Thanks so much Ken! I was hoping maybe you could help me. I am trying to list my dads items on ebay, but do you think t is better to list them here? Would all the different brands be okay to list here? I am a little overwhelmed with this, I do not know anything about knives...thank the lord for the internet! Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Lisa

Where and how to sell depends a lot on how quickly you want to move them. How much do you know about their value? Listing them here on AAPK is less expensive (lower fees, no cost to list as many as you want) and a targeted audience of people interested in knives. But it's not an auction format so you'll need to decide an asking price for each item or lot you list.
eBay is more costly to the seller but you can just auction the items and get whatever they bring - let the marketplace determine the value. eBay is the best resource for values since it's a huge marketplace, with thousands of knives listed and previously sold, and a huge audience.
A third option, but one that will net you less money, is to sell the entire collection to a knife dealer. A dealer will re-sell the knives and therefore needs to buy from you at "wholesale" - significantly less than you could get selling them yourself. On the positive side though, you will get paid sooner and with less work on your part. There are members here on AAPK who are dealers (I'm not) so if you're interested in that approach let it be known in a post here and you'll probably get some offers. Of course, they'll need a list and pictures of your items for starters.

It is a great song and sung by none other the Mrs. Waylon Jennings, AKA Jesse Coulter.
Apologies for sidetracking the thread.
