All About Pocket Knives

[album]The last time I needed help you guys were great. I need help again. At the base of the blades it says CHICAGO POCKET KNIFE Co. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

WOW ! I have never seen a knife of that pattern or brand & never seen any pen knife with the ball bolsters on both ends.
Goins lists "Chicago Pocket Knife Co." simply as "after 1940". He does not say what it was before 1940.
Whatever, your knife is older than 1940. I think it is more like 100+ years old and i think handles are ivory. Blades are quite worn down but uniqueness of the pattern makes it very collectible.

someone posted a similar patterned knife awhile back(I think galvanic1882).Although I magnified the pictures I cannot tell whether it is indeed ivory or bone. I think it is bone. Nice catch even in the condition it is in.

I agree the handles are bone. I would guess the knife to be quite a bit older than 1940 and closer to the turn of the century.

There are several similar knives posted here. Maybe Dave, dcgm4 will have some insight.

I cannot see the dots of bone or the grain of ivory. My guess of ivory was based on the color. I don't mind being wrong.

Not arguing anybody's opinion, but if John Goins stated "After 1940", that's exactly what he meant. In his opinion, based on that tang stamp, the firm was founded after 1940.

Was he correct? I have no idea.
