Apostle P knife sharpening and sales ?

I sent him a knife to sell and it's been sold for over a month and I have not received payment and he won't return text's voice mails or emails. He seemed reputable but now the P must stand for Professional Unprofessional. What's the deal with this guy ? Did I screw up having him sell a knife of mine ? All I had ever seen around was that he did great knife sharpening and I figured he was good for the money on knife sales because he has a presence . What to do now ?

That does seem odd considering what I found with Google;

"I'm Rob Bixby, a Christian husband, Father and Patriot. This channel is named for Peter and Paul, apostles of Christ. Thanks for joining me."

Maybe if you politely confronted him on Facebook -- https://www.facebook.com/TheApostleP/ -- you would get some results??? ::shrug::

I looked at his web site and he sure appears to be on the "up&up" , I 'd give him the benefit of the doubt for another week of so, he may have had an emergency of some type and is unable to respond? I sold some handle material to a guy a while back and didn't get his money for quite a while, then he finally got back to me and he had been in the hospital with his dad and wasn't home. His dad died and I felt like a jerk after I had sent him several emails and phone calls with no answers. So who knows? I have never had any dealings with Apostle P however. ::handshake:: Terry

If he is running a business of selling for people and he sold your item more than a month ago,he really has no excuse for not paying you.Also it only takes a minute to respond to an email.

Some sellers will not send you the money from selling your knife until 30 days after the sale. It has to do with PP giving buyer a 30 day period in which item can be returned for refund. I think this is the correct explanation for the 30 day lag time.

it's funny that now he responded after his business gets exposed. I guess I should have posted something weeks ago about the lack of response. How difficult is it to email or text a response. When your reputation is in question ,I get a quick response. I can't give a pass on this because of the repeated contact I've done with no response back for weeks. I learned a lesson from dealing with people without checking their background. I now have and it seems that there are individuals with gripes from his day job in CAR sales. Need I say more ? I'm not taking down this post like he wanted for the fact of being run around for weeks with no responses. I'm just exposing evasive business tactics from this service. ::td::

I was just texted by Apostle P with name calling. How is it that I can be contacted now but for weeks before I couldn't get any response. I'm not saying he isn't a good sharpener or proficient knife seller. I'm saying how about reply to outreach. He did pay with Paypal and I was not informed when and that it would be the method. This all could have been easier if he responded weeks ago stating payment is payed and it's method. This is never been intended as being a scammer. This is about replies. I sure have gotten them now. Guys on AAPK that I've bought and traded with have all been non evasive and respond within a day. Strange how I get so much response now and with name calling. It's to bad this is what it takes to get a response. I guess I didn't have enough to sharpen or sell to have any priority to get questions responded to. Now I have gotten full attention. Irony. Simply respond weeks ago in two sentences, I deposit through Paypal and your item is deposited. I didn't appreciate being left hanging and not knowing how or if I was payed. More transparency is what would have more integrity. The Word is Sharp and I showed that I have my own honing skills. I really shouldn't have had to go through postings to get a response and I'm surprised that this method got the attention but again you find out where priorities are and until exposed, I wasn't a priority. All in all he does a good job sharpening and can sell a knife quick but that was never in question. For all the Apostle P Christian rediric, I should have been contacted weeks ago and not left hanging until you get a post that exposes how he does business. I'm not concerned if he payed me in Paypal a second after the sale. It's the avoidance that says it all. There's some Sharp words. Talk is cheap and actions are paramount. Lesson learned about false projections and buying into imaginary. Sorry for the rant but light needed shon.

Sorry it took me awhile to respond, guys. I was not a registered member until now. Not sure what the OP's issue is, but he sent me ONE knife to sell, for which I waived my minimum lot commussion, and ONE knife to sharpen. The latter was sharpened and returned on time. The sale knife sold on 5/18. The OP was paid by PayPal gift on 5/19. While he did send several messages over the last month, which I responded to by text and unanswered call, NONE indicated he hadn't found the money in his account. He would text me during a live knife sale and want to talk. Since my work for him was done, and he was difficult to communicate with, I stopped trying. When this post went up, a friend saw it and tipped me off. I texted the OP a screen shot of my payment on 5/19 and asked that he remove his slanderous post, which he never shared with the thread when he made his follow-up comment. So basically, he's either lying because he thinks I'm not giving him enough attention, or he doesn't check his PayPal account very often. BTW, I pay my sellers the same or next day. Sorry for the confusion.

I do feel the need to answer some questions that have been raised in this thread, both about my business and my character. Of course I make mistakes, but my sharpening work is pretty good. I've sharpened thousands of knives for customers, and have never failed to return one, including some sticky shipping situations I've resolved for customers. My consignment sales have included hundreds of knives over he last year, with zero complaints by buyers, because I represent each individual knife accurately, warts and all. My sellers are paid as instantly as possible because I require buyers to pay by PayPal "friends or family." I do this so my sellers can get their money before their knives leave my hands, and because I believe that if men can't trust men to be honorable in the knife community, they shouldn't do business with one another. Part of my niche in the community is being a trusted intermediary, a responsibility I take very seriously, and my customers appreciate.

I'm certainly not perfect, and communication is the one area that suffers the most. Due to the shear volume of inquiries I get, sometimes I need to prioritize with whom and how soon I communicate. In his case, the OP had shown himself to be a high maintenance / low volume customer who was very demanding in a vague way. Consider that he made numerous contact attempts over he last month, and never just said "Hey dude, where's my money?" If he had, this thread might never have happened. BTW, he was informed of my method and timing of payment during our first 90-minute phone call, which yielded very little business, and very little listening on his part. He made himself a low priority.

I hope this clears up any misunderstandings about who I am and how I do business. Thanks guys.

My issue was not with getting the money. It's about returning messages. Ironic that there was no time to message that I have been payed through Paypal but plenty of time to reply after exposed for unprofessional business tactics. Let's be clear here. He had no intention of replying back to me until exposed on this forum and now it's a try and cover your behind. Sorry it's not working. Especially when you have made so much reply after your business process is in question. I'm not saying this guys a thief or unskilled at what he does. Don't leave people hanging when they repeatedly contact you. You can't excuse your way out of this because your too busy. It's been shown here that you aren't that busy to do a 30 second reply. I was of no consequence until he again got exposed and has made himself a victim somehow after profiting. Car sales tactics aren't working here. Just reply and you alleviate having to try to cover your self. It's laughable that somehow it's my fault no replays were made. This is just someone trying to play innocent. Again I wasn't going to get a response and it looks like this forum was a catalyst. There is no cover or excuse for the avoidance that acured period. Better use Feel,Felt, Found somewhere else Ha Ha Ha. Sorry for the rant but the excuses aren't cutting it and yes the pun is intended.

Case N.Point, when did the money appear in your PayPal account?

If there is proof that can be shown of the date the knife was sold and the date you received the money, frankly that would tell us all we need to know.

Dragline is correct. If you want to continue, please take it private. This is not the proper venue for this sort of thing.

Apostle P; ::welcome:: to AAPK!
Thank you for eloquently representing you side of the story. I hope you will enjoy AAPK and stick around.

Case N.Point:
First the issue was the money now it is about not returning your messages. Well, which is it? (rhetorical question.)

AAPK is a venue in which we can discuss our hobby of collecting knives and the history of the grand companies and amazing pepoly who made them. It is not a place for our members to carry on vendettas or smear campaigns against other members.
Members are to be treated with respect.

I believe Dragline is right on the mark; we have all heard enough and JerryD's graphic says it all.

I am locking this topic before someone gets himself in trouble. I have had enough complaints on this topic already.
