Case XX Pinned Shield

I have an XX era Case. Bought it from someone else. The knife was re-handled by the Case Factory. When the knife was returned to the original owner, the original pinned shield was not there anymore, but was replaced with a modern day shield.

If I have this knife re-handled by someone here, and I can obtain an original XX era shield from another knife, would it be possible to pin that shield back on the new handles?

That's how it works when you send a knife back to Case. They don't have the old parts so they use new. It would be great if you could pay for and get the old red bone and original blades, but they aren't available. Absolutely you can have a shield with pins put in. Not a major job. Look at the work of Glen and some of the others in the repair section.

If the liners are original to the knife, then the shield pin holes should be there still. If you are planning to rehandle the knife (new covers), and have a period shield, then yes, it should be able to be pinned.
