All About Pocket Knives

Hi I'm new to selling knifes and need help selling a collective knife for my father. I've found two sites that will buy collective knifes but want some information about the knife I don't have like exact model number and year made. After searching relentlessly for this knife online I still can't find any information on it. It's a Robeson MasterCraft limited edition 1 of 200 Painted Pony limited edition 3 of 5 knife with certificate of authenticity signed by Michael Prater. I have enclosed several pictures so hopefully someone can give me more information on this knife and the value of it.

Your pictures are not showing however from your description it does not sound like a truly expensive knife. Some people do collect knives re-handled by "Painted Pony" and only they would know what they are willing to pay for this specific Painted Pony knife. At a wild guess i doubt the value is higher than $200, but i could be wrong.

First off, to AAPK.

As kj said, the Prater re-handles are known but not ultra-exclusive. A couple pics would definitely get you some better information. Jerry has been so kind as to compile photo posting instructions for AAPK here, so if you're having trouble you may want to review that thread.

Very nice knife! It appears to be a Robeson-branded Queen large Congress with the Prater rehandle treatment. While I can't give you a more accurate estimate of the price (ultimately a knife is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it), I see similar but not identical knives on eBay asking $200 (no bids yet) on a Case USA or Marbles USA frame. This one is a Queen and not significantly rarer or more desirable (if anything, the Marbles USA might be the most desirable of the three, and it also has pearl like yours) so I would suggest keeping an eye on the other Prater auctions to see if they sell for their desired prices:
