All About Pocket Knives

What can anyone tell me about this Jumbo Trapper. It is a straight line, @ 5 1/8" closed, 802 on the back of the tang of the main blade. It has never been carried or sharpened. I like stag, so I bought it. Please help a brother out.

I can tell you it is both a big strong working knife and a highly collectible knife which on ebay would sell for around $300.
It's a very fine knife and rarely seen in that size or with such fine stag.

Thank you KJ I love stag. Finding info on that knife is fun. If it is from back in the 60's , it has been well protected. I have been trying to make myself carry this knives for several years, I can't make myself do it! No problem with a $500 MT. Just not the same...

Very nice knife in great condition. These knives were introduced in 1969 in a limited edition by the importer of Eye Brand cutlery at the time, Knife Importers, Inc. in Austin, Texas. The size of this trapper was a remake of the model DJ trapper that had been out of production in the line of knives for approximately 10 years or more. The knife was very popular with collectors and was sold out within several months. Most all examples were done in excellent quality stag as with your knife. It's a keeper for sure.
