All About Pocket Knives

Just a quicky ,did schrade make this pattern for other company's? I noticed that colonial,sears,camilius and possibly more company's did a large lockback that looks identical,what do you guys think ?

Top one has what looks like station scales ?

I think the only LB7 I've seen marked with some other company's name are the Craftsman branded knives for Sears. The rest are made by their own respective companies. The lockback folding hunter seems to have been popular with many makers, especially after the introduction of the Buck 110 in the mid sixties.

Thanks cody I guess after the 110 most copanys copied the design, but colonial and camilius look so similar,I've not even checked out ka-bar yet lol

I have no official information on the matter but I am of the belief that the Craftsman lockback was made by someone other than Schrade and was not a LB7 or LB8. The reason is because the ends of the handle are not shaped the same. Especially the joint end of the handle. The Craftsman continues the arc of the top of the handle whereas the LB7 breaks from the arc and takes a straight line. The Craftsman more resembles the Camillus to me and might make sense because of the relationship Baer had with Sears and he had Camillus produce the Craftsman knife? Someone here must know the origin of the Craftsman. The Colonial knife follows the same lines as the LB7 though.
