All About Pocket Knives

Got this knife in recently. I am very skeptical about its authenticity. Feels a bit on the light side and just looks like a more recent (possibly German) knife. It measures 4 and 1/16 inches closed. Opinions? Thanks in advance!

No expert here but I would say your skepticism is warranted.

The only time I have seen the words,"Celebrated Cutlery" were on early English and some German knives.To my knowledge Miller Brothers never used that stamping.I also have never seen a curved Miller Brothers stamp.Doesn't mean they don't exist;I've just never seen one.

It doesn't look good to me. 2 cents worth.

There was a stamp according to Goins of Miller Bros Celebrated Cutlery... HOWEVER my 2 cents in agreement with others - the stamp looks suspicious (I don't think I ever saw an apostrophe in Bros either and Goins has not an apostrophe in any Miller Bros listed stamp variations including this one) which obviously makes the whole knife suspect... my 2 cents and a gut feeling...

This one came in a small collection recently purchased. I wouldn't have purchased it by itself. Just doesn't look like an "honest" knife to me.

There's some reproductions from the pacific rim, although yours look much better than the ones l've seen, they are the worse of the repo"s that I've seen. The one I have doesn't even have a tang stamp just a MB on the handle. The marbles, hammers, and valley forge repos are much better imho.

What about this one? Any thoughts?

That's a nice knife Tj but all the Miller Bros I have seen are just so used up and I thought they used screws instead of pins in their construction but I am far from an expert on this brand a I guess that's why I don't have any.

Probably more with pins than screws.

It does look very nice (too nice?). I think that the screws were used on the very early utility-type knives, pruners, rope knives, etc. I've not seen much of Dimitri lately. Maybe he will chime in.

Buffed blades & cold stamped = not a good knife; but did sell for $88.
