All About Pocket Knives

I've been away for a while and am getting the handle on the "new" look on the site.

Recently a friend dropped an old knife in my hand and said "what is this?". It's a two bladed (looks like) butterbean. On the main blade, (very faint tiny) "kissing crane" stamp above "Robt Klaas" over "SOLINGEN" on one side and 2929XVII on the other. on the small blade, larger kissing crane stamp over "GERMANY" . The shield with the kissing cranes still has some red color in the creases. I'm not interested in the value but would like to know the vintage. It came out of his Daddy's tackle box and was pretty dirty but not unusable. Thanks fellow knife buffs.

I did not know that ! The numbers can be 'read' & basser5 cracked the code !

If it's not a trade secret, would you mind mentioning where you found the reference? AAPK's "research" section doesn't yet have a Robert Klaas section and that might make a very useful starter for it.
