Nickel silver threaded bolsters, pins, outer liners, shield (Crusader (aka Interstate) shape with first class emblem stamped into, eagle turned to left) and unthreaded permanent bail. Center liner milled (jimped) brass. Spear master blade with crescent pull. Mark tang stamp ULSTER/DWIGHT DIVINE/&SONS. Pile tang stamp 1502. No half stop. Etch “OFFICIAL KNIFE (first class emblem in center) BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA. Etch is faint and “AMERICA” is not readable. Has been sharpened, but without significant blade loss. The edge shows a little damage toward the tip. Good snap. Arising from same end of knife is 2 inch screwdriver/cap lifter. Tang stamp mark side ULSTER/KNIFE/CO. No signs of use. Good snap. Arising from other end of knife is two piece canopener with horizontal thumb stud (making it a three piece). Shows no use. Good snap. Also arising from this end is long punch, unmarked, with good snap and showing no use. Overall finish of steel in knife shows micropitting and patina. Overall condition excellent or better and in a high quality knife. Both Joseph Kerr’s and Ed Holbrook’s books on scout knives suggest 1927 until 1940 for manufacture date. $100 shipped, big loss to me.
