All About Pocket Knives

I just picked up this old Boker Sportsmans Knife.
This one was made in the late 1960s. The delrin handles have a rich dark color that looks so much like bone that most people would have a tough time telling the difference. When Boker first started making this knife (pattern 93) around 1960, the handles were jigged bone and it had four pins instead of three. The frosted blade etch that was originally on the carbon steel blade was worn away years ago, but I think there is a lot of use left. I just sharpened it up with my Lansky sharpener and I will carry it in my pocket tomorrow.

That's real nice Blue. And yes, those handles have a deep, rich color. It looks as if you just had that knife re-handled. Excellent condition for it's age and like you said, it has a lot of good years left.

Wouldn't you call it a slender/slim Trapper? I'm still confused on many of the pattern names...

Yeah, most folks nowadays call this a slim trapper.
Boker always called them the sportsman's knife and slim hunter in their literature.
