I have a small pocket knife. I have had it for a number of years and cannot recall where it came from. Has anyone ever heard of a knife brand / company called pirat?... this is written across the blade and stamp on the bottom at bolster is E122. Does any one have info on it?

I have never heard of it. A couple of photos showing the whole knife and the stamp or etches might help.
Welcome to the forum, nativek!

Sometimes what is stamped on the blade is not the brand name, it might mean "steel" or "stainless" or something like that in whatever language the steel came from. Or, sometimes it is a city or region where that knife came from. For example, some Italian stilettos are stamped "INOX" and "Milano", signifying the blade is stainless and from the city of Milano, which is known for it's cutlery.
Edit: According to google translate, "Pirat" is Romanian for Pirate...

I'm going to guess Pakistan - just based on the file work on the spine and the multi-colored handle.

Pakistan was my guess but the name was throwing me off and the little knife is really very nice and very sharp and seems well-made detail wise. and not to knock all knives from Pakistan but are they any Pakistan brands better than others.

Welcome nativek.
In my opinion some are worse than others.

Welcome to AAPK nativek. I don't recall ever seeing a discussion of Pakistan brands, or their relative merits.

This should be interesting.

If you see an Italian style stiletto marked Milano it's from the orient.

Doh! You are correct - I was actually thinking of the AGA Campolin knives from Maniago, not Milano...
