....and full of piss and vinegar? We had my significant other's son, grandson and one of his buddies and my granddaughter up for the weekend. We have two ATV's, so you can bet they earned their oats. The boys wanted to "go huntin' bears & cougars", so I made them some wooden spears and a couple of plywood swords and daggers for close in fighting. They had the time of their lives wandering down by the creek and through the woods. I love to see boys have these kinds of opportunities rather than sitting in front of a computer game.

You get them outdoors like that when they're young and you have them hooked for life. Teach them the different animal tracks, how to track, hunt, and fish, and give them some survival skills during some backpacking trips and they'll have memories that will last a lifetime, something a computer game will never do. I treasure the memories that I have, many from my great grand parents who were born in the late 1880's and lived as if they were still in the 1880's except for running water and electricity, still used an outhouse though, they just thought it was nasty to do that inside a house.

Great memories, I wouldn't trade them for anything. I do continue to pass these on. That's great dewman,

they will remember these things for the rest of thier life and pass them on to thier own children.
