B4 * ANY/ F. WARD & Ccs/ CUTLERY/SHEFFIELD Double edged Fixed blade

A nice late mid 19th to 1890's dagger. Earlier it might have been referred to as a Bowie. I would rather believe it was an Indian trade knife. Any enlightenment would be appreciated. There is considerable info available in reference books. I happen to use LG IV as my primary book. I have just relocated so having problems locating different books and knives. I an attaching as many photos as allowed. The OAL is 11 1/4" with the blade being a bit over 7". I believe the knife to have Stag handles in great condition, the blade has a couple of small nicks. I think for its age as a used knife it is in excellent condition.
Some years ago when I received the knife. Research showed a couple of these Ward marked knives marked near or like this one sold at auction for somewhere over a grand. One of the sales was by a large auction house in England, the other was in U.S.
I did find a recent sale on a commensurate knife at $1250.00. It was a single edge straight blade by a different maker. Everything I have mentioned here is what I have seen or read. Do not let any of it lead you anywhere as my interpretation may be different than yours.
I think the photo's represent the knife well, view them carefully and research for yourself as your interest dictates. I will place a different photo taken earlier for size authentication. By the way I do believe the knife to be authentic.

Edit: Would also consider this knife as partial payment for early San Francisco Bowie that has been authenticated. I would expect to be asked for reciprocal info on mine and I would comply.
