I don't know you from Adam's cat. I bought this knife seven long years ago for big money and the knife and the pictures are MINE. You can take your rude comments and stick them where the sun doesn't shine. Who do you think you are that you can claim copyright to those pictures unless you have actually copyrighted them? I post many pictures for the benefit of anyone who might enjoy them. All of us here do the same. When anyone posts images on the internet they are free images for anyone who wants them, including your avatar which I can blow up, edit and use any way I like, although I would never do that. This forum is not a place for the kind of comments which you have just made. It is a place for commaraderie and free sharing of pictures, whether of items to sell or to collect. Take off, troll.  :( :(

You did NOT take those photos and you know it!!!! ::td:: They might not have my copyright on them but I sure as h#ll took those photos! Still got em on my camera!! Still got the white buckskin I took the pics on....notice the slight difference in the color of the buckskin between pics? Because I took those pics on two different days!!
But you are correct this forum is NO place for a thief or a lair!! Man this forum has sure gone downhill....I think I'll talk to a Mod about this...
Good Luck selling your knives! I'm certain the members here enjoy dealing with a lair and a thief!!

PS, I have NEVER been a Troll :D

I've bought knives from Cal and the deal was always better than I expected. Not my fight but in my dealings he has always treated me right.

I don't want to get in the middle of this pissing contest, but the above is a myth. Content published online is most often not public domain and is usually copyrighted. Also tongue you do not have to do anything to copyright a photo. The act of creating it constitutes a copyright. Yes, everyone here does it but nonetheless it is most often technically illegal.

Yes, Cal is an honest and straight dealer. Not my fight either but the aforementioned is something I can stand behind.

Dave - can you provide a link to support your claim that these are in fact your pictures?

I know Cal to follow the Boy Scout Oath and Law and if he says they are his pictures - his word is good with me as I know him to be fully trustworthy.

I never meant to hurt anyone or steal anything. And that is still my story. I download thousands of pics from the internet and those two pics were just two of them. They are all free and uncopyrighted and you are free to use any of mine. I shall continue to do the same thing. Why anyone would have a fit over it is beyond me. ???

Never had a "fit" but when someone tells me that I am lying and they are "MINE" I will stand up and defend myself. ::nod::
Perhaps if you are trying to sell knives here you should take your own photos....or at least note that the pics are not yours!! ::shrug:: I do it all the time when I post a photo that is not mine!

Reminds me of the time I went to a boxing match and a knife forum broke out. I'm thinking that Cal and Dave have a common bond in that S&M knife, knice to see the admissions and olive branches!

Dave, you are being quite the gentleman in this matter.
I can see where some might not be.
My hat off to you sir.

Well, this is an interesting development. It just happens I know both of the men in this little dust up, and I know them both to be gentlemen.

Dave is been on AAPK nearly as long as I have. I have had the privilege of meeting him in person several times at the Oregon show and he has an amazing collection of knives. He is also a very generous fellow because anytime I have done an auction for a widow of one of our members Dave has stepped up and been more than generous with his bids. ::tu::

I joined AAPK in 2006 and I know Cal didn’t join until a couple of years later, at least according to his profile, but I believe Cal and I originally met on Blade forums before I had even joined AAPK. I have bought knives from Cal and I have done custom work in restoration work for him. The depth of his collection of the Schrades and Western knives are exceeded only by his knowledge of those two companies and his willingness to share his wealth of knowledge. Although Cal I have never met in person we have had a number of interesting and informative phone calls over the years. Cal is very liberal when it comes to sharing his wealth of information on knives. ::nod::

The Internet is an excellent tool for sharing information such as pictures and words, but it is not very good at expressing the emotion of the human voice or of the human face. I am confident that if David and Cal had met in person and had this conversation face-to-face the entire misunderstanding would’ve been avoided.

Cal and Dave are both great guys, both very knowledgeable in their respective fields of collection, and I consider them both to be friends. ::handshake::

And I just have to say to both of you; “That is the best looking Queen product I have ever seen!” I’m glad you sold it before I saw it. Even though I don’t collect Queen knives I would have definitely made an exception for that one! ::drool:: ::drool::

I now see that Dave thought that I was implying that I took the photographs. I regret that miscommunication. When I said that the pictures were "mine," I meant that since I paid (a lot of) hard cash for that knife I was certainly able to use any images associated with it as I saw fit. I never thought that Dave was a liar and still don't. Just a misunderstanding. Whenever I buy a knife from any source, if there are any images associated with it I always download them and I use them in different ways; I will continue to do so and anyone who wants to use any images I cast out to the internet winds is free to do the same. Here is a scan of part of my receipt when I bought the knife. I have no idea who the seller was.
