Just wanted to get your opinions on the A.G Russell knives produced by Camillus. The particular model I am looking at is a Barlow style CM-2. When were they made, and what are they worth in non carried condition. Thanks. Rich

I am not sure exactly which knife the CM-2 is. Can you post a picture or a link to one ?

The "value" of any knife is a product of many factors, many of which are entirely extrinsic and unrelated to the particular knife itself (such as market supply and demand) and, therefore, difficult, if not impossible, to accurately determine at any given point in time. Nevertheless, one way to get a rough idea of how much similar knives are currently selling for is to research eBay sold listings.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Ca ... Complete=1

When I bought my CM-2 a few years ago, the selling prices in general were substantially higher than they appear to be at the moment. Over the years, I have seen prices for this knife fluctuate widely, even for unused models. Although not unheard of, it's somewhat rare to see one in mint condition (with original leather pocket slip) sell for much over $120, and more common for the price to be somewhere in the $75 - $100 range.

This is just my opinion based on my experience and totally unscientific and somewhat irregular observations. Hope it's helpful.

PS: The shield on the CM-2 has got to be one of the all-time coolest shields I have ever seen: a shield of the knife with a shield of the knife...almost like looking at the reflection of a mirror in a mirror...very "meta."

Camillus made Daddy Barlow. The AGR CM-2 aspect only adds value if trying to get an example of all the AGR CM knives.
I would give $35-$75 as value but a bit higher if buyer really 'needs' a CM-2.

Rich, according to my unverified (i.e., unreliable), rapid research, the AGR CM-2 was originally released in 1973.
