Thank you to all who expressed appreciation for my former military service. The 5 years in the Marine Corps ( 1955-60) were an exciting and memorable part of my life. I would have made it a career but the Marines have a saying, "If the Marine Corps wanted you to have a wife they would ISSUE you one". We had one daughter born in 1957 and my wife told me if I wanted more children I would need to resign from the Marines. Thanks to her we also have 4 wonderful sons. Fortunately I entered the real estate business in Southern California in 1960 and bought a few old houses.

This SNJ is on static display on the hanger deck of the USS Midway which is currently docked at the Broadway Pier in San Diego as a permanent museum. I checked the Bureau Number of the airplane with my Aviator's Log Book and found I had flown it one time while in flight training in Pensacola, Florida. In those days we made our 6 carrier landings to qualify for Navy wings in the SNJ.

Thanks again for your thanks!

Don
