Anyone here love Puma Knives? I have a sweet looking redbone stockman on the way on order. They're Solingen Germany made, so it's gotta be good right?

Germany has very lax laws around importing goods and the use of "Germany" in the markings.
A knife can be 90% or more made offshore and then sent to Germany for say, the final buffing and the knife can still be marked "Germany" and possibly "Made in Germany".
There is a thread in BRL forum at BF in which poster "Germania" explains the German import laws. He is a German academic who researches old documents to do with the cutlery industry in Germany. His posts are accurate however the ones i refer to were made about 8 years ago so things might have changed.
