I figured I had to make a tanto sooner or later, just so happens it is sooner. Chisel ground and ready for HT.

Boy, that looks like a looooong handle ! What kinda steel didja use ?

The grinding looks flawless, amigo. Will we see a hamon, after HT ? What handle material are you thinking about ?

blade is 4" handle is 4 1/2"

No hammon, I think I'll quech point first.

Thinking about black denim micarta

Steel is old simmonds file which I believe are 1095

That's a FILE ??? Man, it looks like precision-ground O-1 ! Your grade-point in grinding just went up a letter grade ! VERY impressive.

I agree whole-heartedly (for what that's worth) - I like a black handle.

You're doin' REAL good, brother... Don't mean to over-work you, but I'm waiting for the 'po-boy' Model 19 !

We will see a hand-rubbed finish on this tanto, correct ?

Thanks guys :). If you look closely in the first pic there are still a few lines in the tang (remmants of file teeth). Yes, probably hand rubbed finish, was going to go with a high polish but decided aganst it for this type of knife. Still debating on: black jeancarta, black buffalo horn, or black paper micarta. SS pins either way. As soon as I clear out some commisions I'm going to work on the "po boy 19"
