I like these slim trappers.
woodwalker posted one the other day and I was reminded of how nice they are to carry.
I retrieved my few for pictures.

Nice group of Trappers. The Case with the spey blade is different. You don't see too many of those around.
I've got a few Slim Trappers and will post a pic when I get home from work.

Nice slimlines fellers!! I carried mine again today!! They are such a confortable carry with plenty of handle to hold on to and plenty of blade to work with.

Those Winterbottom Queens are sweet!

Here are some of the more colorful slimline trappers I have owned. The Case 048 was one of the first patterns I started collecting.

Here’s my example of a XX era with the Spey blade. I bought it off eBay with the shield, but no scales. The seller said it was a dead mint knife but the scales out gassed and he yanked them off. There was a little pitting on the blade, but everything seemed to match his story.

I had Orvet rehandle it with some walnut out of my dad’s wood pile. The swell end taper he put in it makes it real comfortable in the hand.

I always thought the slimline trapper looks like a stretched out single blade peanut - has the same lines. I am totally into thin knives - I will have to try one

All of the slimlines are very nice indeed! Colonel it's neat you were able to get yours rehandled from wood in your father's woodpile! Walnut is a beautiful wood. Q: all your knives are awesome!! My 1970 ten dot is special to me because my 92 year old neighbor Barney gifted it to me while sitting out on his front porch one day a few springs ago chewing the fat. He said Kevin I know you collect knives and he went into his house and brought it out to me in a zip lock baggie and said here is something to remember me by. Well I tell ya I will always remember our 13 years worth of conversations with each other. Our fishing stories and hunting stories. And now I proudly carry the Case 10 dot from my good buddy Barney as a reminder of our wonderful friendship. I gifted to him a Buck lockback that he still carries to this day! Sorry for the long post!!

WW when you are telling a good story like that the length can't be too long. I lost my 98 year old buddy and neighbor last year, if the fool politicians could've would've listen to us we'd straightened this ole world out lol. Good story thanks for sharing.

Thanks Bighomer!! Sorry about your friend!! I agree with you. There is wisdom in our Greatest Generation that can never be replaced. I enjoy my talks with old Barney. A 30 year Army veteran he is a great storyteller.

you if needed (unfortunately did not need to use it today except open a few letters

this evening). ( Had to have a cutlery re-profile that blade, it was really well spent)

As Joe said, that is a beauty well loved knife! Love the color of the bone!!

Finally tried a Case blue bone slimline trapper - really like it way more than I thought I would. Really nice and slim, blade centers perfect and has great snap. Hadd to rehab this one a bit - blade showed some wear, but it's cleaned up & a gamer now. Just wish it was about the length of a 32 or even a 47 - seems a tad long for EDC ... maybe I just need to get used to it. I'll throw up a picture of it later...

CASE 048.. John

At the top is a recreation by Dale (Orvet) followed by a Queen and at the bottom a Colonel Coon. The CC is a little questionable as a slim line,but it is slimmer than my other Trappers, soooooo you be the judge.

Real nice Garry.. Could the bottom knife (CC) be a Mini-Trapper???

I am hoping slimtrap48 shows up here as he has a BIG pile of these and real nice ones.. What do ya say Andy??? John
