Hey Doug, thanks for posting. Good job on those. I have never tried anything that is suppose to look like something. And the paint adds to it. Keep sharing. Is that the knife you used?

Thanks guys. These are the first carvings I have ever painted. I actually use a variety of knives. I didn't use the knife in the picture a GEC. I used it to try and get a better picture and the blades a little long for this small stuff. I usually use my Rough Rider whittler and a small Buck or a Old Timer 3 blade. Also use a Flexcut detail carving knife also. Usually whatever is handy. I like them all.

Nice work Doug. I like to see what people carve so thanks for posting. I'm sure your skill will improve as you continue. I can't carve anything but my initials into a tree..

I guess some can do shavings; all I have gotten so far is sawdust.
