All About Pocket Knives

I picked this up this weekend at a flea market and I have no clue about it, nor can I find another like it. Does anyone know anything about it. The guy thought it was celluloid, but I'm really not sure. He wasn't either, but thought it might be a fruit knife. Age unknown. Thank you all in advance!

I was so taken with the knife I forgot to look at J Ward.

Goin's Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings shows a J. Ward with only one date. ..... 1913 ..............

So there's probably not too many around.

Oh, super cool! I really hope that's the case I can't really tell what the material is, do you think it's celluloid? I know it's hard without seeing it in person.

The handles and the blade look like different material.
I don't know what they are. I don't think the handle is celluloid. Some kind of composite I assume.
The blade looks like bone but probably not.

Some one with more experience than me in such a unique knife will, I hope, come along.
It's a keeper.

I thought I had seen this name before.

I found a member that had the same knife as of 2005, so I messaged him. I hope he's still a member and can tell me more.

Thank you, Ken. I did see that one and reached out to the member to see if they found out anymore info on it. I would love to know the value of it, and the approximate age. I thought it was ivory as well, but the guy I bought it off of said it was celluloid...

I’m away from home, so I have no reference material, but I think J. WARD /BRONXVILLE, NY is a good deal older than 1913.

Pretty sure Abraham Lincoln was presented with a very fancy, pearl handled, gold etched, multi-bladed commemorative knife. There are photos of that knife here on ASK somewhere.

I suspect the OP knife is all ivory and yes, it’s a fruit knife.
