All About Pocket Knives

I picked up these two custom folders. They are very well made. Great fit and finish, Both are marked "JAMES". Are any of ya'll familiar wuth James knives? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Have a blest day!

Don’t know that maker either but he does good work, very nice. Do you mind saying what price range you paid for those?

I bought these from a collector in Houston who is selling his stuff. I paid $225 each for these. He told me that James was a well known maker back in the day, which is kinda vague. Any way, they are very well made with strong snap and great lookin' bone scales!

A quick look in the 2002 edition of Knives the only James listed was a Peter James & Sons in Wheaton Illinois.Don't think it is him though as his mark was his initials overlapped.

Those are sweet. I am hoping to get a custom knife some day. My heart is set on a Eugene Shadley made knife. His fit and finish is incredible. Only knives that aren’t custom made that come close are Moki’s, Al Mar and Mcusta.
I love a knife that you can’t see where the backsprings ends and the knife begins because it fits so tight together, when the blade is open of course.

I found today (from Bob Tice) that Mr. James initials were "G,R." and that he was from Boerne, Tx. and that he has passed away. Thanks for the comments and interest!

I cannot help with those but on my cell phone they often show new James brand knives. Which they think are great. I don't give them much thought as they link to Amazon.
