All About Pocket Knives

Got both of these today at an antique shop I infrequently go to.First the pocket knife.
At first glance I thought it might be a Daniel Peres figural knife.I have several that were done by him and the detailing looks quite similar. When I opened it there appeared a very tiny figure stamped into the tang.Hard to see clearly even with a 30x loupe but it appears to be a figure facing forward(possibly wearing a cap)with the right hand held out palm up and the left hand holding something.There is some type of object beside him on his right. I think I have seen this mark somewhere before but don't recall where.One handle has the words Portland Ore.surrounded by roses and to the left an image of Mt.Hood and to the right a place called Vista House.The opposite handle has an image of Multnomah Falls. The handles appear to be gold plated with most of the plating still intact. A very nice little knife for $4. If anyone knows what the image stands for I would appreciate the info.
The second piece is chrome plated steel 1" wide by about 7" ling.Six inches is straight and then it is bent in a half circle for an inch. The lettering is partially obliterated and says "Master Sharpener" in an arc.Under that it says Price--- and Lima Ohio.
Attached to it is a U shaped clamp held on with a screw holding it on the back and a slot cut in at about 15-20 degrees and 1/4" wide.Underneath the clamp is what looks like a piece of broken mill file with ends cut at the same angle as the slot. On the back is what appears to be a patent number( P A 1 7 2 4 4 2 2 ). I do not know how to look up patent numbers so if anyone has that knowledge could you help me out on that? This piece set me back a whole $2.25.

Well I figured out how the sharpening tool works. You lay the side of the blade against the angled part o the clamp and the edge lays into the groove between it and the sharpening bit. Draw it towards you and then do the same thing with the opposite side of the knife on the other side.Works very well on kitchen knives but the angle is a little steep for pocket knives.

Now that is pretty cool.

With glass scoring wheel?

the mystery tool, my mother used a curved tool to break loose the ice cube trays in the freezer 1950s and I may still have it. Way before frost free freezers were around.
