All About Pocket Knives

Guys,
I am listing this knife in my store and I am undecided about the handle material. It has the feel of Micarta yet I heard one person refer to it as Dymondwood. Dymondwood is new to me and the coloring and laminations do not look like any Micarta I have seen.
It is a custom by W. G. Whitley. I found his website and called but got no answer. Left a message but no return call so far.
What do you think?

Ray, I would say that’s Micarta. The rings look too consistent to be wood.

By the way, that’s a gorgeous knife. How much are you listing it for?

Dymondwood is a specific variation of plywood. I'm betting that is plastic laminate (what you guys call Micarta. Like Kleenex, Micarta is a brand name.).

Looks like laminated wood to me

I say "micarta".

Hard to tell from the pictures.It looks like wood to me;don't recall ever seeing ivory Micarta with coloring in it.Hard to tell from rubbing it as Micarta and stabilized wood give off about the same smell.

Note how the blue 'rings' bleed into the surrounding area. This would not happen if made of laminated wood.
I believe handles are Micarta.

I have never seen micarta with the different colors, but I have two knives with handles made from G-10 that have that colored/layered look. Not at all saying that yours is not micarta, perhaps colored the same way my G-10 was. Pretty sure it is not wood. Buck uses a lot of Dymondwood, BTW.

Micaeta... I’d bet the ranch on it!
