Catt Yukon???

Post by galvanic1882 »

Ok what do you all think of this one? The frame is not a Yukon frame in my opinion, at least not one I have ever seen. The 3C on the face of the blade is something I've never seen before. Does it look like it's been done recently to anyone?

Mighty funny looking Mike. I'd say that etch is definitely home made. I think Kinfolks also marketed this pattern. Looks like the center rivet is hammered in a hole that once held a spun rivet.

I know they used that stamp on the tang of some knives. But this knife is not one of them and that etch or whatever it is does not look at all from anything I’ve ever seen come out of the factory. Gino a agree about the pin, kinfolk, case and I think western states used that type of frame I believe? Can’t believe this knife is getting bids but as I’ve said many times before what the heck do I know!

The knife Mike pointed out was never a Cattaraugus, you need to go to the ebay listing Mike provided and check out this sellers fake Napanoch and Case Tested 6265 as well. The Case has blade stamps done on a pantograph machine - excellent example of fake stamps.

Well the seller is from the fake knife capital of the world, TN. The super rare fish jack he has looks like it has a welded on main blade since it has the proper tang mark but no nice top grinds or "swedges" on it. Dang I love fish jacks!! Than "Napanoch" is one of the worse fakes I have seen with the knife and the tang mark looking nothing like a real one. A real knife like the one Mike shows, but by Kinfolks just came on ebay, hard to find one for sure.

Robeson never made that pattern as a "Robeson", as far as I know, but they did make it as a Kinfolks.

That bone looks like Robeson's strawberry bone to me, not as dark or as vivid red, but still puts me in mind of it.

The blades, however, are not Robeson's Kinfolks blades. The pulls are wrong.

Just musing.

Robeson made Kinfolks below. Not mine, but an Ebay auction photo.
