I have done a little research lately on Aurum Etchings (knives below) and have found that it was
Samuel Shortes who started Aurum Etchings, inc in 1975. He received wide acclaim and produced work for the President.

His company Aurum etchings is now A&A Engraving, inc and produces some of the most beautiful works I have ever seen.
Apparently now almost exclusively firearms and some Jewelry.

These unlike his earlier works dont appear to be deep acid etched for obvious reasons. He was responsible for reviving an ancient art form
with the use of modern Materials. Here are some examples of his work and a news article interview with Sam Shortes in Link

Thanks Rusty 1
I discovered from a reliable source that the botton knife is worth about a lot $$$. These were the very first Aurum ever did and the most important knife Smith & Wesson ever produced.
Thanks Tim
