When last season ended I moved from the Metro DC area to Delaware so now I'm torn between the Flyers and the Capitals. You see, I was born and raised in Connecticut and was a Whalers fan my whole life until they left town for North Carolina and then I became a Bruins fan because it was the only "local" team. Now that I'm in Delaware I'm think for rooting for the Flyers since my neighbors believe they are the local team.

One thing is for sure....no matter where I live - I WILL NEVER BE A PENGUINS FAN!

Isles won the opener.

Hated Rangers lost.

Life is good.

Naa, all is well

Resurrecting John's hockey thread with a couple pictures of the Gr8 Ovie, he scored #900 last night. I also have a 1 minute video, but posting it would be frowned upon by the NHL. And I don't want to get into legal trouble with them.

As a gentleman up top said I was a Whalers fan and still follow them in NC - Lived in Raleigh when they first moved - Caps were the "local" team for TV coverage.

Never been to Pitt but have been to Scranton-WB Pens a few times driving from FL to NY

Have you watched any of the World Juniors? It is some excellent hockey, a good precursor to Olympics competition. There are two great matchups today, and championship tomorrow.

Have you watched any of the World Juniors? It is some excellent hockey, a good precursor to Olympics competition. There are two great matchups today, and championship tomorrow.

S/b an interesting game today for U.S. vs Germany, they didn't exactly dominate Denmark yesterday, and the Germans bring more star power.
Slovakia has been a good story in this preliminary round.

Our Women's team is looking great and the Canadians are looking vulnerable. Our Men's team is looking pretty good too.

Both USA teams look great in this Olympics. I worry about whether Canada or Sweden will be up against them. I’ve always said “never bet against Canada or Sweden when it comes to hockey”. Looks like the men’s will face one or the other. Should be an epic game. I’ll be watching.

Any significance to the fact that when you watch men's hockey you drink from a glass from one of the more famous adresses in the world in St James Gate, but when women's hockey is on any old mason jar will do?

I think USA ladies are a shoo in for gold. On the men's side, I like Sweden, but hoping for Canada/U.S. matchup for gold. I also wish Matt Tkachuk would just play hockey and keep his mouth shut, totally classless comment he made to Draisatl.

Thanks! We have 3 pictures from a late Cumberland artist who graduated with one of my little sisters.

The USA women’s team did a remarkable job. What hard fought win that was. Got to give it to them, they did an amazing job.
