That is one drop dead gorgeous knife! I only have one Howard Brothers knife;a bartender's knife with a built in cigar cutter. Hope you don't mind me posting it here.

Voyles shows Howard Bros./Germany, but no other info. Also, Howard Cut. Co. (no country of origin) 1885-1905.

Are you sure those handles aren't ivory? It would be fitting with those bolsters.

Nice fancy pen Joe ... No doubt unique bolsters and I find that German cutleries indeed used fancy designs on many of their bolsters - fluted, threaded etc.. are these nickel silver?? I agree with WB the handles look to be ivory but you would know best with a close look using the loupe ... I’m not seeing evidence of Haversian canals...

I like that handle look Joe, as you can see by the handles I have chosen on my GEC knives. You are quite the antique knife miner. You and John scour the globe.

Using my loupe I am seeing a few Haversian canals. I think it's bone.

The liners and bolsters are integrated nickel silver. Also has nickel silver spring.

Now that is interesting to me - integrated liner and bolsters on a German knife .... I am not knowledgeable at all on German knives and always just associated integrated liners-bolsters with pre-1860 Sheffield knives... given there seems to be little dating info as noted by WB I wondered if this was an early knife but being marked Germany suggests post 1890... also given many German cutleries tried to come off as Sheffield quality I wonder if this knife was trying to mirror Sheffield quality and production attributes... often many German cutleries used a British name plus “Bros” to sound British but usually they did not mark Germany on the knives when this was done... Interesting ...

Lee, I don't know this for a fact but I think these bolsters and liners were somehow quickly stamped out.
The knife is only 2 1/2 inches long so it is a small piece to stamp. Great action with half stops on the two little blades.

Look at the large pins. The holes for the pins seem oversized and filled with .............. epoxy??

Nice knife Lee but the handles have been replaced. Everyone of these I have seen with those fancy bolsters had celluloid tortoise shell handles, which would shrink badly or offgas. Someone popped the cell handles off, left the original brass pins in place and put on smooth bone handles using epoxy to hold them on.

Nice looking knife just the same and I really like the fancy bolsters, please put a picture of it in the bolster thread
