As we were taking donations for the VFW poppy sale today, I got to talk to a old retired marine and he mention it being the corps birthday and we got to chat a bit, as he walk off he said I'd go again but I'm to damn old. p.s. thanks Ray been a member for sum time.
On November 10, 1975 I was the "Youngest Marine" at the Marine Corps Ball at the Marine Barracks Naval Ammunition Depot, Hawthorne Nevada. I was 17 the "Oldest Marine" "Top" was probably younger than I am now. There's my claim to fame. What can I say, it was the Carter Years...HAPPY BIRTHDAY USMC!

Added your screen name to the image in the OP. Semper Fi little brother. (I enlisted in 1962)
My best friend in the Corps turned 75 today. We met when I failed Radar Fundamentals at MCRD San Diego and had to repeat the course with his class. We were stationed together for my final two years & seven months in the Corps.
