How about this one from the tested era. I don't know about the tang stamping, but don't like the bone and the pin spinning looks modern?

To the seller's credit, the hafting looks right, the jigging seems correct for the period, and spun pins were around in the 1930s IIRC.

I put no credence whatsoever in the seller's claims of rarity (2nd ever seen? Case?)

I'll defer to Case experts like Steve in this situation but my amateur read on the knife tells me it's legit (just not worth $1800 IMO).
