Been all over the net looking for info on this nice 8" Ackermannchen Pick Lock, seems to be a quality piece but can't find much info. Any insight as to who what where and about when?
Thanks!

I`d say late 50s early 60s Italian made to be retailed by the mark on the blade.

I agree, great looking knife. Does it function the way it should?

Thanks for taking the time to respond guy's!
Yes, Ackermannchen works as should very nicely, feels heavy in the hand.
So the value of these pic locks is in the maker not ever the retailer?
I have collected quit a few Stiletto's but only have 4 pic locks.
The Ackermannchen, Latama, Kiss EIG Cultery & a no name "made in Italy"
I believe I will start getting rid of all my swivel bolster release type and concentrate on more pick locks. I have noticed that I seem to gravitate to a knife that has an "even to Bolster" height handle/scales. The ones with the big steps up to Handle turn me off for some reason.

Nice group of knives you have there! I look for picklocks too and usually don’t buy the stiletto’s, swivel bolsters but I just picked up a 13 transition knife and love the darn thing. Big heavy well made knife I hope to take pics tomorrow to post. What swivels do you have that you might let go? Mike

Three 13" and a couple 11".
Sell, trade!
I am really looking for a PicklockPat Picklock, Since it's so hard buying, selling, trading auto's I think I better look into being a Supporting Member. I have a Kar-Bar Grizzly I would trade towards the rite PicklockPat, nothing gaudy, just simple and elegant!

Why don't you contact Pat, and have him make what you want?

Here are pictures of the 13 Rostfrei that I have. 1960's I believe. The picture with the 2 knives the other is a Coricama. Really like th lock tab on it plus how thick the backspring is.

Bill, I gave Pat a call a couple years ago about making a custom picklock BUT after many questions of what I wanted my head started spinning! Like going into a candy store and picking out just one piece you like! I found that I liked a lot of diff. things from each knife he makes but when you put them all together on one knife it would not have been simple and elegant, my fault. Slowly narrowing it down as to the perfect picklock for me, maybe a 9"-10" Wasp body, Black scales, stainless or Brass buttons, dunno yet.
Galvanic, If mine were from the '60, nice scales, heavy & fat like yours I would probably keep them, but mine are just to new looking for my taste. When I got them I didn't have anything to compare them to, was just trying to fill a hole in the old collection box!
