All About Pocket Knives

If you were a youngster in the 1950's like me, you may have been lucky enough to talk your parents into buying you this high tech toy from your "Jets" cereal.
I obtained over a dozen of these from "Restoration Hardware" in the mid 1980's.
I listed them on eBay when eBay was young and easy. They sold like hotcakes.
I kept a couple for myself.

Alright you made me Crack a Big Grin on this Cereal Sub - I love and loved getting these in a Box - My brother had the G.I. Joe with the Giant Squid and we Launched it in our Water Trough out at our Ranch one Christmas or it could of been his Birthday , My Dad took us out there My Brother Sister and Myself and it was a lot a Fun back in the 70's - Thanks for giving me Smile - !

I had one like that!

I remember that I had to send in a few box tops and a little money to get it.

Later the cereal company put smaller versions right in with the product, and still later had little plastic frogmen that worked on the same priciple, that were included n with the cereal. They all worked, but the one I had to send away for worked the best.

I had a lot of fun with it.

I had one of those. Worked well for a while and then sprang a leak. Hadn't thought about those things in years.

As a kid (I'm 22) Kellogg's revived the same concept as a tie in to the new (at the time) Disney movie Atlantis: Lost Empire in 2000. This is a photo I borrowed from Etsy. I had the brown one (Subpod).
Hobby Lobby has had a copy of the original pretty cheaply (especially with the coupon), and I've been considering getting one. The cereal box version like I used to have is actually more expensive for some odd reason--I mean, Atlantis isn't exactly famous (other than being the first animated Disney science fiction film), so I don't see the big prices in what was a fifty cent toy.

Had the sub and three frogmen, all that would sink and rise in response to baking soda.

I had something similar when I was probably 8 or 10. Seem to recall mine came with a small tin of tablets. Insert one or two tablets and add water. When the tablets ran out it used baking powder. No bowls of water though, I remember playing with it in the bathtub. Don’t recall how I got it but it could have been cereal as I had several other items that I got from saving cereal box coupons, including a Lone Ranger mask and silver bullet.

I still have one from a cereal box. Had forgot all about it until I saw this. I seem to remember the frogmen, but I don't have any of them now. Also thanks for the use instructions, I had forgotten how to use it. Will have to try it out.
